15 University Campuses approved for JK state

 

 

 

Jammu, March 12 (Scoop News) – Minister for Higher Education,  Abdul Gani Malik has said that 15 University Campuses are approved in the state, of which 9 campuses have been established.

This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by  Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo in Legislative Assembly today. He said that Rs. 98.87 crore have been allocated for infrastructure development of these campuses by UGC, of which Rs. 8.15 crore stands expended so far.

The Minister said that 101 kanals of land has been identified in Kishtawar for setting up of University Campus there and process of land execution is under way.

In reply to another question by  Ajaz Ahmed Jan, the Minister informed the House that University Campus at Poonch was established in 2008. He said for construction of the complex about 61 kanals of land has been transferred to Jammu University and contouring has been also done.

The Minister said the work for construction of Poonch Campus has been allotted to PWD and execution of work is likely to be started shortly.

 

 

 

 

Proposal for 50 ITIs in uncovered blocks submitted to Centre: Chib

 Minister for Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports,  R. S. Chib has said proposal for establishment of 50 ITIs in uncovered blocks of the state has been set to Centre, adding that after receiving approval from the Centre, the establishment of ITI at Marh block would be also considered.

This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Choudhary Sukhnanadan in Legislative Assembly.

In reply to another question by  G. A. Mir, the Minister said that land identified for construction of sports stadium at Dooru Shahabad have not been formally transferred to Sports Council by district administration as yet.
