2 LeT militants killed in an encounter in Pulwama

 

Srinagar, February 04 (Scoop News) –Two militants killed in an encounter at Auwdora in Pulwama district,Police said.

 

Police said that on a specific information about the presence of armed militants in village Auwdora, Lassipora in Pulwama,Kashmir.  Police , Army  Personnel of  55 R.R Unit and  182 Bn Central Reserve Police force-CRPF, launched a joint operation and  laid a cordon of the area, last night. During the process, militants opened fire on the advance party, triggering an encounter.  Militants remained holed-up in the house of Bashir Ahmad Shah son of Late. Abdul Ahad Shah.

The encounter resumed Saturday morning, which ended in the elimination of two local militants- who were identified as- Ashiq Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of  Panzgam-Awantipora and Mudassir Ahmad Shiekh son of Ghulam Ahmad Shiekh resident of Yamrach-Yaripora (Kulgam). Both of the killed militants were affiliated with Lashkar-e-toiba.

 Police recovered 02-AK 47 rifles, 02-AK Magazines, 120 rounds of AK ammunition, 02-diaries, 03 Nos of Matrix sheets and two pouches from the encounter site.  A case FIR No:- 24/2012 under section 307-RPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, has been registered a case.
