Pakistan’s tribal areas and settled area of Swat district located in province of NWFP has become a hub of Alqaeeda and Taliban militants during last few years, despite of government efforts to curb the militants activities due to influx of militants from Afghanistan into troubled areas of Pakistan have become a constant source of trouble for Pakistan security forces and peaceful citizens, international media reports reflect that NWFP government peace agreement with Maulana Fazlullah’s militant group was failed to promote peace in Swat when Alqaeeda took over the command of militants in Swat.
Security forces in Bajure have been involved in decisive battle against militants initiated in August 2008 and high command of security forces has been determined to curb the insurgency in tribal area of Bajure, according to international media reports 22 militants were killed in Bajure on Monday in ongoing security forces operation in Bajure but security forces commanders in Bajure area have reportedly said that militants are using civilian residents as human shield to escape from security forces, which results in increasing causalities of civilian population in troubled area of Bajure.
‘Armed Lashkar of Slarzai tribesment had killed four militants in Bajure on Monday evening, nine men of Sarzai Lashkar were also martyred during clashes with militants, Salarzai, Utman Khel and Charmung tribesmen of Bajure tribal area have formed armed Lashkar to confront Taliban militants in Bajure,’ it was unveiled by state owned media.
‘ 20 militants were killed on Tuesday morning in ongoing security forces operation in Dara Adam Khel tribal area, gunship helicopters were used against embattled militants.
Settled area of Kohat has also become hub of militants, villages located on Kohat Bannu road and Kohat Pindi road militants are showing their presence their, hilly area of Tanda Dam Kohat and its surrounding villages are also showing signs of the militants presence, Kohat police has been conducting search operations in villages located on Kohat Bannu road and during last two days good number of militants have been booked by police in Kohat,’ sources have said.
