2781 passengers of Kargil airlifted during 3 months

 

 

Srinagar, March 15 (Scoop News) –2781 stranded passengers of Kargil have been airlifted from Srinagar and Jammu upto Kargil or Leh since the starting of the Kargil courier service on 29th November 2012.

 

Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Aamir Ali in the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said that as many as 764 passengers were airlifted from 14th March to date including 402 stranded passengers of Kargil who were airlifted today, in special aircraft of IL-76 of Indian Air Force from Jammu and Srinagar to Leh. 225 passengers were airlifted from Srinagar to Leh, while 177 passengers were lifted from Jammu to Leh. 142 passengers were airlifted from Leh to Jammu and 200 from Jammu to Leh on 14th March.

In order to airlift the other stranded passengers of Kargil at Srinagar, who are in possession of air tickets of Kargil courier from Flight No: 21 to flight No: 25, they have been asked to report at Kargil House Bemina at 7 am on Friday 16th March 2012, so that they are airlifted in IL-76 from Srinagar to Leh.
