Cricket, cricket, again and again

India is on a great run in the ODI cricket arena, with 2 big victories over Bangladesh and Pakistan to storm into the finals of the tri-series in Bangladesh. Before the IPL India had registered stunning victories against Australia in Australia to win the ODI cap… so you can say India is on a high in ODI cricket and the boys are really doing well.
But then there is a notable interest slump in cricket – few people are even aware of the tri-series, news channels arent following the cricketers’ each and every move as they usually do, Indian newspapers giving more importance to the Euro cup.
One-day cricket was expected to be hit most hard with the advent of Twenty20, but has the trend started already? Whatever be the case, there definitely is too much cricket going on. The BCCI should definitely think about reducing the amount of cricket. Its not just the spectators who are getting bored, the cricketers will start losing motivation too. And their careers will start shrinking, there might be more injuries. Players are not going to be able to give their 100 percent when they want to, in an important game. The empty stands you see during the series should remind the BCCI that people definitely like watching cricket, but they dont like to do that all the time.
