Haddin plays down first Test win

"The first Test was obviously a great occasion, there was some great cricket played but in all honesty that’s already gone before us," said Wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin.

"Now we’ve just got to concentrate today and leading into the Test match with getting our preparation right for the second Test.

"We can take some good things and some bad things out of what happened in Johannesburg but the main thing now is preparing for this second Test and making sure once the first session is under way we’re ready to play."

"I’ve heard this is traditionally a place where it swings," he added.

"It was quite evident in Johannesburg once the clouds set in the ball seemed to swing more and once they shifted away the conditions for batting became quite pleasant.

"I think the first Test venue had a great mix actually between bat and ball. If you were on top of your game with the bat you obviously got reward, being such a small ground, with runs.

"And if you were on song with the ball you got the wickets so I thought the balance was absolutely perfect."

"I don’t think they (Hilfenhaus and Siddle) are really in doubt," Ponting said.

"But when there are sore spots like that and you’ve got to go into back-to-back games you’ve got to seriously consider before you go in with guys who have got niggles, especially when they are relatively inexperienced and new bodies to cope with Test match cricket."

He added: "Our approach won’t change, we came here to play the best cricket we possibly can and prepare ourselves in the best possible way to make sure with every Test match we were ready to play."
