Panun Kashmir (PK), today organized a general body meeting to take stock of the campaign regarding the observance of the “Martyrs’ Day” on September 14 and the emerging situation especially the despondent condition of the inmates of the Jagti Camp inmates who are braving the power cuts and the worst water supply scenario.
In a statement issued here, the meeting was attended by the advisory council members and various activists of Panun Kashmir and condemned the attitude of the government towards the inmates of Jagti and the condition of migrant Pandit employees who are working a midst threats to life and intimidation in the Kashmir valley.
Taking stock of the present situation, PK Chairman Dr. Ajay Chrungoo said, “The condition of religiously cleansed Kashmiri Pandits continues to be grim and the apathy of the policy makers and the government towards the genuine demands of the community members in Jagti, other camps and rented accommodations is a process of attrition and human rights violation in uncertain terms.”
Referring to Martyr Day, Dr. said, “September 14 is the day which motivates the entire community and all the nationalist forces who uphold the Indian nationalism in the state amid the atmosphere of intimidation and desperation to strive for maintaining the national honor at all costs. The entire nationalist constituency besides KPs should demonstrate on this day at the Press Club Jammu to send a clear message to anti national forces and pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for honour of the KP community and the Indian nation in Kashmir.”
Other leaders appealed to the community to work towards the realization of this goal as it the key to KP empowerment. The reversal of KP genocide and religious cleansing can only be reversed by carving out the Homeland with the union territory in Kashmir with the free flow of the Indian constitution in letter and spirit”
