JAKARTA – Vice President Jusuf Kalla stressed, the change of leadership in the United States does not affect the government’s decision to end the contract in the management of ExxonMobil gas field Natuna D Alpha. Despite the concessions will be submitted to the Pertamina goverment still open the opportunities for this biggest oil and gas company in the world to become a partner.

The government, Kalla said, has been set since 9 January 2005 contract management field Natuna D Alpha gas with ExxonMobil end in itself. For, since signed in 1995, the contract does not provide economic benefits to the state.

Kalla added, for 13 years, ExxonMobil squalids block Natuna D Alpha. After the government decided that the gas field to Pertamina, Exxon tried to swerve away with give development plan to the Natuna D Alpha minister of energy and mineral resources, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas Implementing Agency and the Upstream Oil and Gas Activities on 30 December 2008.
ExxonMobil holds, they are still entitled to the Natuna D Alpha has put a contract extension for the next five years in 2004.
