Police bust gang of Drug peddlers in Anantnag : 07 arrested
Huge Cache of contraband / banned drugs recovered : Case registered ;
Police said that on a tip off, a special team under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs, Anantnag, Tanveer Jeelani, SHO Police Station Anantnag, Ashfaq Alam and SI Parvaiz Ahmad recovered huge cache of contraband and banned drugs, which included large quantity of Codine bottles and arrested seven persons, involved in three separate case FIR’s. A country made Pistol was also recovered, from the possession of one of the accused. The group included a
Three drug peddlers Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Brakpora, Mashooq Ahmad Magray son of Abdul Rashid resident of Monghall and Imran Qayoom son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Batangoo, were arrested in case FIR No. 38/2012 under section 21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Anantnag have been arrested. 33 bottles of recodex have been recovered from their possession. Moreover, during the investigation of this case one country made Pistol has also been also recovered from the possession of Waseem Ahmad Dar resident of Brakpora. Following the recovery of Pistol, a separate case FIR No. 43/2012 under section 3/25 Arms Act was registered.
Three persons Farooq Ahmad Tantray son of Khazir Mohammad resident of Hanwan Kulgam, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh son of Jalal-ud-Din resident of Gadihama Kulgam and Abdul Gani Ganaie son of Mohammad Rajab resident of Zadoora Mirbazar were arrested in case FIR No. 45/2012 under section 21/22 Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic substances act-NDPS, and 900 bottles of Codorex were recovered from their possession. During the course of investigation, it transpired that these banned drugs have been transported from
Similarly, one drug peddler Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Mirgund has been arrested Case FIR No. 37/2012 under section 8/15 Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic substances act- NDPS and 2.800 kilograms of Fukki was recovered from his possession.
