Taylor will shine says Vettori

"Ross Taylor was the key, the way he was playing and hitting the ball," said Daniel Vettori. "He held the responsibility of the win in his hands."

"His maturity and the way he has played and the composed nature of his last three innings have been really exciting to watch and probably the key to his development as a batsman," said Vettori.

"We know he is such a good striker of the ball, he is adding this composure as well and I think he is going to be a great one-day player if he keeps this standard up."

Taylor‘s increasing maturity is likely to be tested to the full in the Chappell-Hadlee one-day series in Australia.

"We know the Australians are an outfit that will come out fighting and there certainly won’t be any lack of confidence I’m sure," said coach Andy Moles.

"But we have taken note that things haven’t gone ideally for them. We have just won a one-day series and we are going across there to win. We are not going across there to take part in a series.”

"We have players who want to start winning things home and abroad and we’re looking forward to the challenge."
