The Next Big Things

The Hype Machine (and no, I’m not talking about the hype machine we music fiends, fans, and bloggers hold so dear) is a fickle beast. Love it, hate it, or clap your hands say yeah! to it, its blogs, mags, and self-proclaimed zeitgeists have a lot to do with determining who’s next, and who’s Jet.
Well, I hearby [sic] throw my music-snob hat into that glorious, self-righteous ring. Here on Ground Report, I’ll give you (at least) a weekly rundown of what you should be listening to. You don’t have to take my word for it, honestly. But between scouring MySpace, sifting through all the promos sent to me at Flavorpill, and gig-hopping round both NYC and London, I’m fairly rawk savvy.
Of course, you may not agree with my tastes. I can pretty much assure you that they have an indie-rock/pop slant. But I’m not averse to some underground hip-hop, and have some electro surprises up my sleeves. Simply put, I have an infectious exuberance for new musical discoveries, and like a kindergartner at show-and-tell, I might just wet myself if I don’t get to share.
So stay tuned, dear readers. This music revolution will be blogged.
