This is the time of the year that Louisiana has quite a few festival events for families to enjoy. These festivals start as early as March. In Independence, Louisiana there is the Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival that takes place this year beginning on March 9 through March 11, 2012. People can look forward to enjoying the Sicilian Heritage Festival as it will be packed with fun and entertainment and even Sicilian food. Entertainment will include live music, games and rides.
Ponchatoula, Louisiana will host the Strawberry Festival. This festival takes place every spring and this year it will be held on April 13, 14, and 15. This is the largest free festival in the state of Louisiana. People come with their families from near and far to enjoy the sweet and delicious strawberries in Louisiana. At this festival there is also games, rides, food, music and more.
If you like crawfish, then Louisiana is the place to go. There is also the Louisiana Crawfish Festival which begins March 22 through March 25. This festival will take place in Chalmette, Louisiana. You and your guests can enjoy live music, food, crafts and more at this festival.
Travel Louisiana during the spring and visit a few festivals with your family and you will want to come back every year. Louisiana has a festival for everyone to enjoy. The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival will take place April 27 through May 6. In Franklin Parish there is the Catfish Festival that starts April 14, 2012.
