Before sending your money, wait until you are sure that photography is going to play a major part in your life years to come. If you have to save up for a flash unit or tripod you will appreciate it when you eventually buy it and, more importantly, you will USE it.
The following are a few suggestions for accessories which I think are necessary:
Tripod
A tripod is one of the most useful accessories no matter what kind of camera you have. It should be used when your shutter speed is below 1/30th of second of a second to eliminate camera shake.
Cable release
It will enable you to photo indoors in daylight, outdoors at dusk, to take time exposures at night, and self portraits.
It is essential to buy a study tripod which, when fully extended, won’t wobble. It is useful to have a central column as well, which can be adjusted to the correct picture-taking height. Also make sure it has a ball and socket head, or a pan and tilt head, so that vertical as well as horizontal pictures can be taken.
When you are buying the tripod add a cable release o the bill. The cable release screws into the shutter release button and when pressed, triggers the shutter without any fear of camera movement.

How to fix
- A hair caught in the camera between lens and film. When camera has no film in it, open the back and hold the shutter open by using `B’ on the shutter dial. Carefully remove hair.
- Scratch lines are usually caused by a speck of dirt caught in the film cassette opening or inside the camera back. They can also e caused during processing.
- Subject photographed under a green leafy tree. Green reflects onto face.
- Accidental opening of the camera back. X-rays at airports may also for film.
