Alzheimers and other metal illnesses might be reduced by taking tests daily for one hour.
More specifically; while I have no skills in the diseases or of mental illnesses, I am skilled in the science of learning.
I am a real estate broker and have studied, intently but informally, flying [to obtain a private pilot’s license.] While I get upset with the picky picky questions my books have within their content, written by professors of the subject, I am discovering perhaps a hidden value. One book I have is strictly for tests; of ever category of subject that 12 states test on [for their real estate sales people and brokers]. The other book, unfortunately written by someone else for a different set of tests, at least I am getting the hang of test-taking approaches. ONE approach both tests use is the idea of "all the following is used EXCEPT" and the other approach is "which one of the following is USED?" While I am a
good test taker and test designer, I still slip up–perhaps wanting to get through and perhaps wanting to get every question correct.
As I take more and more of these tests for the ASI approach, now the Primissor approach, I keep thinking, what focus, what new memory building, might this approach help those who are in their more sedentary lives–those who need a stimulus. I am betting, because of the approaches used, and the subject matter is easy to catch onto [real estate or flying or others], that a book reader and test taker would soon find himself captivated and challenged. I am betting that this system would be amendable to Medicare financing.
As each mature, retired student, prepares for his tests, his /her thinking acuity can be judged and ways to help dig up old memories created.
JUST one of my books has 16 tests, another 25. ONE can go back to the front of the chapter to see what the answer was in one book or at the end of the chapter in another book. A certified teacher or even a volunteer can then, guide the reader–test taker, to learn or re-learn the material. And instead of Latin or chemistry, this is material that is easy to associate with [no offense to users or experts in Latin and Chemistry.]
It also makes sense for those who might begin suffering from brain decay to be asked to present a lecture on a subject of pleasure.
Lastly–comedy makes people fee better–both practicing it, laughing at it or some how being involved in it.
