AMK for promotion and preservation of Kashmiri language

 

Srinagar, November 10 (Scoop News) – AMK to organise literary events in Sopore, Kupwara. Continuing its efforts for promotion and preservation of Kashmiri language and literature, Adbee Markaz Kamraz  (AMK) is organising two major literary events in Sopore and Kupwara on 12 November 2011.

 

The first event, “Hanfi Sopori Day” will be held in Sopore to remember the contributions of noted poet and writer of Kashmiri language Hanfi Sopori. Radio Kashmir Srinagar and Majlis-un-Nissa Sopore, a constituent of AMK, are collaborating in organising the literary event. Besides discussions and deliberations vis-à-vis the issues of Kashmiri language, popular singer Manzoor Ahmad Shah will sing the Kalam of Hanfi Sopori on the occasion. Eminent writer, critic and researcher Muhammad Yousuf Taing will be felicitated in the function for his contributions to the Kashmiri language and literature. The function shall start at 11 am at “Kashmir College of Education” Sopore.

 

The second literary event will be held in Khumriyal, Lolab the same day at 5 pm, which shall continue till next day afternoon. Besides the “rotational meeting” of the AMK executive, a Mushaira and several rounds of discussions and deliberations are part of the event. Noted poet and writer Ranjoor Tilgami will be felicitated for his contributions to the Kashmiri language, whileas an interactive session will also be held with him. Shehjar-e-Adab, a constituent of AMK and Radio Kashmir Srinagar are collaborating in the literary event. The venue of the function will be Shah Anwar Memorial Secondary School, Khumriyal Lolab.
