Avalanche warning in Kashmir

Srinagar, January 18 (Scoop News) –High danger avalanche warning has been issued for higher reaches of Naugam, Kaiyan and Gurez sector for the next 24 hours. Medium danger avalanche for higher reaches of Chowkibal, Tangdhar, Keran, Machil, Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Uri.

 

People staying in snow bound area of these locations have been advised not to venture in avalanche prone area. Srinagar-Jammu NHW remained closed today. No commercial flight operated due to poor visibility. The weather is likely to improve on Saturday 19th January.

Avalanche warning in Kashmir

 

Srinagar, February 20 (Scoop News) –On the basis of reports from SASE, the Divisional Disaster Management Authority has issued a medium danger avalanche warning for higher reaches of Chowkibal, Tangdhar, Keran, Machhil, Gurez, Banihal and Drass areas,said  Amir Ali, officer on special duty at the provincial headquarters,

 

He said that People living in these areas have been advised not to venture in avalanche prone areas and to take precautions.

 

The avalanche warning is valid for the next 24 hours.
