BJP leaders visit Agri Technocrats on fast unto death

Jammu, April 20 (Scoop News) –    BJP State leaders today visited the Agriculture Technocrats sitting on fast unto death for the last four days and dharna for last 52 days at Mubarak Mandi in protest against their unfulfilled demands inspite of public commitment from Omar Abdullah government.

To express solidarity with these technocrats, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas accompanied by National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, State Press Secretary Balbir Ram, Distt. Vice-President Sanjay Baru and BJYM National Executive Member Aseem Gupta went to the site of dharna and assured party’s commitment to support their legitimate protest till it reaches logical conclusion.

Shamsher Singh Manhas, while interacting with the technocrats said that the Omar Abdullah government has proved total failure and the resentment against the coalition can be well judged from the fact that the Jammu city has become the hub of protests, dharnas, agitations and strikes. He said that all the old issues are lying alive and the NC-Congress coalition has shown least concern towards any of them. He said that the government is buying time because Darbar is about to move and the Chief Minister and his colleagues are just passing days here. He said that the condition of some Agriculture Technocrats is deteriorating and the government will be fully responsible if any untoward thing happens to any of them.

National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that it has become a habit with National Conference-Congress coalition government to make public commitment to the agitating employees and unemployed youth from time to time to defuse their agitation and then later to back out from the commitment. This is unbecoming of the propriety and the oath of constitution under which the chief minister and his minister are supposed to perform their duties.

Rehbar-e-Zirat President Surinder Radotra, while briefing the BJP President about the sequence of events during the last one year, said that they were all on dharna in 2011 when the assembly session was on in Jammu and the government had given a categorical assurance that the demand of agitating technocrats will be fulfilled soon but till date nothing has been done as a result of which we are forced to take extreme step of sitting on fast unto death.
