Death The Unknown Path

Some U.S. figure, I can’t remember who and it doesn’t really matter the name, once said: "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." How totally true that is.
How many times have we been in a conversation with others whether it be at a funeral or just chatting and the topic of death has somehow come up? How many times have you heard someone say in wonderment and concern, I fear death, because I don’t know, whether we become food for the worms, or if there is a God, or, is there really a heaven and hell?
How often have you heard others say that they wonder, if there is a heaven, what life would be like? How often have we stood by silently, as someone states, we have no way of knowing about death or heaven, because nobody has ever died and returned to tell about it?
I think for all of us this has happened at one time or another. Well I think it is time for all of us to shake our heads to smell the coffee.
I must have stood by with my mouth shut, and my mind turned off at least 200 times simply nodding, and keeping my mouth shut, saying nothing, simply agreeing, not desiring to upset anyone or stir up the hornet’s nest.
It is finally time for my mouth to open and speak up on this subject, so here goes. I am not going to quote all of the scriptures, chapter and verse to anyone with regards to this, because most of the Holy Bible Stories I will refer to, are already well known to everyone.
For anyone of us as Christians, to say that no one we know, has died and returned to tell us about it is simply untrue. We cannot call ourselves Christian if we say this. To say this would be to deny Jesus, to deny his crucifixion, and his resurrection. We might just as well consider ourselves as food for the worms.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Almighty, Living God, came down from the heavens, into this world not just to be crucified for sin, but also, to tell us about heaven and yes hell, but to tell us that heaven exists and how we as sinners, humans, can get there and also to give us a glimpse of what it will be like, once we are there.
During His Ministry, before his death, we are told twice about how Jesus resurrected the dead, once with a little girl, and the second time with Lazurus. Thus showing us that death is not permanent. Through his own resurrection we have this re-enforced, showing us that death is merely turning the page.
Death is nothing to fear. Yes our bodies will be laid to rest in some grave site or tomb, or disposed of in whatever manner someone else has accepted to perform as our last request. The truth of the matter is though we are spirit beings, and our bodies are but hosts.
Is there any one of us as Christians, who does not yearn for the day that we are called home to be with Our Father, to be able to look upon His face and thank Him for all that He did for us while we were on earth?
Of course we wish to live to spend as much time with loved ones family as possible, but still in the recesses of our mind and heart, the longing to return home to heaven is strong and there. How often have we as simple humans been far away from our earthly homes our countries and felt what we have called homesick?
Death, This is not the end of our journey though. This is simply a turning of the page, the beginning of another chapter, for we are told, II Corinthians: 5:8, "Absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Jesus tells a story of "The Prodigal Son" a story of a son who takes his share of the family wealth, leaves home and squanders it, and after living slopping pigs to survive decides to return home to his father and brother. The father recognizing his son, his child, even off in the distance, orders a ring and a special robe brought for the son and then honours his returning home with a feast. Imagine the feast that will be held the second we return to heaven, and are welcomed by Our Father and Our BrotherJesus, back into our heavenly home and permitted to rejoin our heavenly Family, for as Heirs through Jesus we are His brother or sister, And God our Father realizing us once again as His purified child.
In John: 14:2 again Jesus tells us, "In my Father’s house are mansions: if it were not so, I would not have told you. I go, to prepare a place for you." Now I may not wish to live in some mansion, but My Heavenly Father has a special place already prepared for me, Me WOW!
In Luke: 9: 30-31 We are told that, Peter, James and John witness Jesus caught up in the clouds having a conversation with Moses and Elias chatting together about Jesus upcoming crucifixion.
Can you possibly imagine being able to chat with any of the prophet, maybe over a cup of coffee, or maybe discuss things with any of Jesus Apostles, Peter, Paul, Judas, to discuss maybe what it must have been like to live in those times. I think there are a few people from both old and new testament I’d love to have a chat with. Maybe it will be possible for them to take you spiritually back into their times in history for you to actually witness the moment on your mind.
Imagine for a moment, you have a grandpa or grandma or some other relative, maybe you never met them, maybe you knew them, well here’s your chance to get to know them all over again.
Maybe like me you are a choir singer, can you imagine how heavenly your voice will sound in heaven? Can you imagine being able to stand at the throne of God himself and be permitted to sing just for him?
The one particular time I am honestly and truly looking forward to is the time of My Lord Jesus second coming. I want to be there by his side, to be able to witness, Satan, The False Prophet, and The Anti-Christ, tossed into the Lake of Fire. On that day I will know fully, that all of my pain and suffering at their hands, was not in vain.
These are just a few things that we can look forward too on the day our Heavenly Father Almighty God finally calls us back home to heaven. In my mind it is something to hungrily look forward to, not be feared to face.
I’ll see you all in heaven when we arrive together, and what a glorious God praising time that will be for us all.
