We are at a jucture where the democracy enjoyed by civilians are threatened by force and intimidation.
As a country still run under emergency , even with no war, the ruling government has all power and authority to arrest and enforce its power on anyone without proper cause.
We are supposed to be free after the war, Are we really free? Can we talk and publish our opinions without being threatened if it opposes the government? We can’t even send an SMS or email, without fear of it being monitored. How can we live like zombies saying "yes" to all that the goverment does?
I was personally threatened for an article published on Ground Report, asking for a free and fair election with uncensored media coverage. Finally I had to delete it due to the threats left as comments.
As a citizen of this country I just can’t keep quiet with what is happening here. As the saying goes "Hitler flourioshed since good men did nothing". Are we Sri Lankans prepared to spak up, or do nothing?
