Appreciating the jawans and officers of the force, Khoda said that
Khoda reiterated that JKP has met various challenges successfully every time and has maintained public trust by avoiding collateral damages and saving precious lives of the people while dealing the situations. He said that exemplary conduct and discipline displayed by the force has also been recognized by our nation from time to time.
Referring the present challenging situation, the DGP stressed upon the force to perform with great professionalism to ensure peace and normalcy in the State without causing even least inconvenience to the law abiding citizens. He said that the common man wants peace which is imperative for progress and prosperity of the State. He said that the police organization is fully aware about the hardships of jawans in the field while performing their professional duties. He further said that the force has adopted a noble job and has accepted to bear these hardships in the service of the nation. He conveyed his appreciation to all jawans and officers of the force who are facing these hardships in the State. He said that our men and officers have received injuries while maintaining the law and order for the past three months and the organization is always at their back. To share their sufferings, financial assistance and health care has been provided to these personnel and the department has sufficient sources in Police Parivar Fund under its welfare programmes. On the occasion, the DGP also handed over the cheques of financial assistance to some personnel who have received injuries while maintaining peace and saving the lives and public property.
Khoda thanked the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for his full support to JKP in modernizing the organization as per the requirements. He said that the force has been provided sufficient funds to strengthen at grass root level. He further said “with the support of the government we have been able to construct more buildings, barracks, offices and residential quarters at a cost of Rs. 110 crores during the current financial year across the State”. On the completion of these constructions, the department will have sufficient infrastructure to accommodate the rising man power of the force, he added. He expressed hope that all the pending proposals with the government will be considered favourably.
