George Huff Second CD Review:
Must Have Gospel CD
By: Warren Jones
As a gospel music enthusiast many gospel music compact discs really do not move me. They might have a few good songs, but rarely do I like most of the songs. I loved the first compact disc by George Huff and could not wait for this one to be released. When I heard it had been released and heard him song of the songs on Trinity Broadcast Network I was excited about this compact disc. I love the fact that the compact disc is faith filled and inspirational. I will let everyone know how awesome this compact disc is and it is a must have compact disc that should be in your collection of gospel music. Keep praising God because he is the way, the truth and the light and keep up your great work.
George Huff in his second compact disc titled George Huff is a great follow up to his first compact disc Miracles. His first compact disc was good, but his sophomore compact disc surpassed his first compact disc Miracles.
George’s sophomore compact disc seems to be a more authentic representation of him than his debut compact disc. From the first track, I knew what I was in for: great gospel music, that uplifted, inspired, and encouraged me. This compact disc fits him like a glove and helps to show his development from his first compact disc to this one.
The first two tracks "Victory" and "Mighty Is Your Name" are spirited and upbeat. Then we move into the smoother, more reflective "He Can" and "I Surrender". Then from those traditional tracks to the more contemporary "Free" and "Destiny", the message of faith still remains. George’s voice is as rich and velvety as ever and he can riff with the best of them. On my first listen, I couldn’t help but feel that for the first time, I was hearing him in his full element as an artist. He has a smooth style like Donnie McClurkin and he has great interpretive skills and a warm baritone voice.
If you decide to buy any compact disc be sure to do yourself a favor and but this one. You will not be disappointed. It was such a moving section of songs that was done in the right order and right tempo. It flows like a compact disc should. Huff delivers an extremely melodic R&B- gospel influenced praise music that not only surpasses his debut release, but stands on its own as one of the better Gospel albums of the year. This may be the breakout disc that Huff richly deserves.
