Government vehicle sets on fire in Kashmir Strike

Srinagar, September 18 (Scoop News) -   Peaceful Marches were taken out at many places across the valley against the blasphemous movie clips. Groups of people staged peaceful marches at Nowpora, Khanyar , Ziyarat Dastgeer Sahib, Habba Kadal, Kawdara, Noor Bagh, Kral Khud, Safa Kadal in Srinagar city,Police said in a statement.


             However, during a march,  few miscreants set ablaze a Gypsy bearing registration number JK18/0070 of Kulgam Municipality out side the residence of Dy CM,Tara Chand. at Mulana Azad Road. Police and CRPF  maintain restraint while dealing with these miscreants.

Some miscreants also appeared at Tengpora By pass and resorted to stone pelting who were chased away by police.



             Police said that peaceful protests were also held in Pampore, Nunar Gandarbal, Kangan, Langate Handwara, Chadoora, Sheeri, Uri, Mir Gund, Pattan, Lal Chowk Anantnag, Pulwama.

             Meanwhile, members of Muttahida Ulema Ahli Sunnat wal Jamaat headed by Abdul Hamid Haqani staged a peaceful protest near Sonawar.


Normal life was disrupted in the Kashmir Valley today due to a strike called by several organizations to protest against an anti-Islam film. Schools, shops, business establishments were closed due to the strike called by Kashmir Economic Alliance. The strike call was supported by hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference, JKLF, Kashmir High Court Bar Association and many religious groups as well.
