Sarawak,Malaysia; Saturday.
A group of Indonesian, known locally as the Sambas Gang has been rearrested after their short-lived freedom in the City of Miri.
This gang is known as the Sambas Gang because all the members came from the town of Sambas, in West Kalimantan,Indonesia.
They have been detained, charged and sentenced to life-imprisonment. They were connected with armed-robbery, possesion of fire-arms and causing grevious harms to their victims.
Eventhough they are handcuffed in pairs, they made a dash for freedom, this morning, after getting down from a Police Vehicle. The vehicle was taking them from Lambir Prison to the Magistrate court in Miri.
They even managed to climb and jump over the fence that encircled the court building. The City Police quickly contacted the General Operations Force [GOF] and together they combed the city. A few hours later all of them were rearrested.
Apparently, they underestimated the public sense of duty . It was a public tip-off that gave them away.
This time another charge is added to the previous ones, that is escaping from police custody.
