J&K Governor, CM greets people on Lohri, Makar Sankranti

Jammu, January 12 (Scoop News) -:The Governor,  N. N. Vohra, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah have  felicitated the people on Lohri and Makar Sankranti, and prayed that these auspicious occasions would be the harbingers of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

          In his message of greetings and good wishes, the Governor observed that festivals are an important component of our composite cultural heritage which strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and promote amity and our secular ethos.

The Governor wished the people a Happy Lohri and Makar Sankranti and prayed for their well-being.

Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has felicitated people on Lohri whishing them well being and prosperity.

          In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the festivity of Lohri gives us an opportunity to exchange good wishes and pray for the betterment of the society.

          Describing Jammu and Kashmir aboard of love and brotherhood, the Chief Minister said “we have long tradition and temperament of celebrating our holidays and festivals in amity. Let us work to strengthen this trait at all levels”.

          Omar Abdullah hoped the day would be harbinger of peace and progress in the State.

             Meanwhile advisor to Chief Minister Mubarak Gul has greeted the people of Jammu on the eve of Lohri which is being celebrated tomorrow

             Extending felicitations to the people of Jammu,  Gul has said that such auspicious occasions strengthen the bonds of amity, brotherhood and communal harmony among the people of different religions.

 Gul prayed that the auspicious day may bring for peace and prosperity in the State.
