JK Legislator hails IAF for lifting stranded passengers


Jammu, February 01 (Scoop News) –    Member Legislative Assembly  Nazir Ahmad Gurezi has welcomed Indian Air Force (IAF) for lifting   90 stranded passengers from Bandipora to Dawar (Gurez) and from Dawar to Bandipora. He also hailed Wing Commander Mishra of AOC J&K Udhampur.

 Mr Gurezi has appealed the IAF authorities to provide such facility in future as well, as the area remains snowbound during major part of the year.

 Gurezi, who is on tour to Gurez constituency from last 10 days visited various areas of the Gurez Tehsil including Kanzalwan, Bagtore, Chorwan, Markoot and other villages to take stock of the problems faced to the people   due to recent  heavy snowfall in the area. He also inspected Sub District Hospital Gurez and took stock of the medicare facilities available in the hospital.  Gurezi directed the hospital management to make available every medicare facility to the patients.

The Legislator also took stock of the stock and supply position of food grains in the Tehsil.

During his visit, several deputations met the MLA and appraised him about their individual and collective problems.  Gurezi gave a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into.

Interacting with the people at different places,  Gurezi said that Omar led government is abreast with the problems of the people of snow bound areas like Gurez etc and every step is being taken to redress the same. He said the government is keen to make available all basic amenities to the people, especially those living in far-flung, hilly and remote areas besides weaker sections of the society.
