Kathmandu December 20, 2008: Lauding the rhythm of music food and fun, the 5th Durbar Marg Street Festival rocked the Kathmanduties highlighting sound and music to remember for. The Durbar Marg Street Festival is a yearly event which is carried out by the Durbar Marg Development Board on regular basis promoting different social message and awareness issues to the youth. According to the organizers, “The main motive behind the festival is to promote the Nepali music and food items in a more non commercial way where people can come and enjoy the music as well the environment. From the past few years, the Durbar Marg Street Festival has acquainted a special place in youth’s heart where they like to enjoy and have fun, so commemorating that every year this festival is celebrated highlighting the youth energy and enthusiasm.” The program started in the late afternoon on Saturday where the crowd cherished every moment adapting the essence of enjoying the music under the open sky in the streets of Durbar Marg. During the program different musical bands and singers performed their popular numbers out which Cobweb, Abhaya and Steam Injuns, Anuprastha, X-Mantra, Anil Shahi, Ciney Gurung, Reshma Sunwar, Roj Moktan, Anil Singh etc were the popular ones. The festival not only served the arrivals with the best Nepali music but also with the delicate taste of fusion street food that was orchestrated by various restaurants in the numerous stalls. The program also highlighted different model of the YAMAHA Sports bike like FZ 16 and YZF R15. Perhaps, Nepal is also grasping the modern marketing technique where luxury products like sports bikes are being endorsed in a prolific way targeting the youths where the needs and wants have cross the normal limits of one’s pocket size.
