Khowar Language Workshop

 Orthography workshop for streamlining Khowar language held.

CHITRAL:  A day long workshop was held for streamlining and uniform for Khowar language at commerce college Hall under auspices of Unjumani Taraqi khowar supported by Mother Tongue Institute for Education and Research (MIER). Writers, poets, educationists, intellectuals from the entire district participated in the workshop. Farid Ahmad president of MIER briefed the participants regarding alphabetic, Orthography and Khowar writing.  As khowar has been inducted in syllabus in primary level by provincial government so MIER arranged this workshop for introducing khwoar writing in a uniform shape. He said that some 14 languages are spoken in Chitral and we want to protect them by their proper documentation. Senior journalist Taji Muhammad Figar declare it a best step for recognition of   Khowar language. Professor Mumtaz Hussain and principal Mukaram Shah also hailed this effort for streamlining khowar which is major language of Chitral and also play a role of communication among the different segments of entire district. During the workshop the writers were given task of translation of khowar in Urdu and from Urdu to Khowar. A large number of scholars, writes, educationists, poets and intellectuals participated in the workshop who hailed it and termed it mailing stone for promotion of Khowar language.
