KPs pay glowing tributes to Bala Saheb Thakrey

Jammu, November 26 (Scoop News) –Glowing tributes were paid today to Shiv Sena icon Bala Saheb Thakrey by a host of eminent personalities of Jammu city in general and displaced Kashmiri Pandits in particular.In an all party Shraddhanjali- meeting organised by Panun Kashmir under the leadership of its convener Dr Agnishekhar,various socio- political stalwarts,from across their party lines,academicians,writers,artists,religious saints,students observed two minutes silence in the memory of the departed leader who was hailed as an exceptionally bold and courageous patriot.
Dr Agnishekhar while expressing deep gratitude on behalf of entire exiled Kashmiri Pandit community recalled how sh Bala Saheb Thakrey played a pivotal role in providing technical education to their children in professional institutions in Maharashtra state at a time when Kashmiri Pandits were forced to live animal existence in conditions akin to genocide in the refugee camps by the state and central Govts’ policy of neglect and apathy towards them. Recognizing this contribution of Sh Thakarey Panun Kashmir honored him with prestigious Sharda- samman on 2nd World K ashmiri Pandit conference in 1998.
The state Shiv Sena president sh Ashok Gupta who immersed the ashes of Bala saheb Thackeray in Tawi recently ,recalled how sh Thackeray arrived on the political scene like a storm after the collapse of communists in Mumbai and left a significant mark in the polity of India.
When Syed Ali shah Gillani opposed the road widening issue of Shri Amarnath shrine,it was Bala Saheb Thackray who lambasted him for whipping anti-hindu sentiments in the state. Hailing Balasaheb Thackeray as a forth right person, Rajesh Kesari President Shiv Sena Hindustan appreciated his disapproval of Govt of India’s soft- state policy with mischievous Pakistan. Dr.R.L.Bhat of Vichar Manch hailed Bal Thackeray as senior most patriotic leader ,who contributed to evolve hindu discourse as significant political idea in the country. H.L.chatta President ASKPC demanded that the Shivaji park in Mumbai be converted a national memorial in fond memory of Sh Bala Saheb Thackray.
Advocate Kashmiri Lal Bhat paid rich tributes to Thackray he stressed that we should adhere to the path shown by him with courage of convinction.
Describing Sh Bal Thakrey as a strong patriot youth for panun Kashmir functionary Umesh Kaul held that he always strived to inculcate the sense of pride in its people.He proposed that community should institute an excellence award in the name of Bala Saheb Thackray for the downtrodden students in jammu.
Sh P L Badgami ,an educationist and Sr.functionary of KHC said in the death of Bala Saheb the backbone of KP community was wrecked.The true homage would be striving hard for creation of separate homeland for kashmiri pundits in the valley.
Young turk Pratap Singh Jamwal appeal to the people in general to be vigilant against nefarious design of Islamist Fundamentalism in the state.
KPC president Kundan Kashmiri hailed Sh Bal Thackeray as messiah of Kashmiri Pandit community and wished that this nation needs an assertive leader like him at the centre.Youth leader Ashtoush Kaul appealed the youngsters in the diaspora to remember always Thackray in shaping their destiny in exile.
Kashmira Vahini National Spoksperson Dr.Kshama Kaul said our community is neck deep indebted to the departed leader for providing real healing touch in terms of admissions to our children in exile.
Prof M K Raina ,chairman,political affairs committee of Panun Kashmir highlighted how sh Bal Thakrey in the personal sphere was friends with even those who were his political adversaries which is missing nowadays in the country’s political spectrum. Several messages received from various parts of the country viz Karnataka,Hyderabad,Pune,Vadodara,jaipur,Kolkata,Patna,Chandigarh, Delhi NCR and abroad were read in the meeting by Raja jee Tickoo.Many participants were seen in tears while hearing the speakers.Among others who attended and paid homage included Kuldeep Luthra, R K Raina vice president ASKPC,Jaikishan Pathan,D N Kissu of Non Camp Migrant Association ,Sanjay Dattatreya National Cordinator Panun Kashmir, Omji, Gayatri Hashia, Ashutosh kaul,Umesh Kaul,Chander Prakash,A.K.Reshi and many more.
