Kunzar/Srinagar, February 25 (Scoop News) – Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir today inaugurated three day employment fair at Kunzer, Tangmarg organized by district employment and counseling department Baramulla in collaboration with other allied departments.
Addressing a large gathering on the occasion, especially unemployed youths who participated in the fair, Ghulam Hassan Mir asked them to change their mind set and instead of hankering after government jobs, establish their own employment generating units and provide employment to others also.

The Minister further said that there are certain departments particularly Agriculture, Handicraft, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Floriculture, Wool Carving and other allied sectors which can’t only engage thousands of unemployed youth but also can strengthen the economic conditions of the
The Minister stressed the need for organising such fairs in order to aware the unemployed youth about various employment generating schemes and the schemes launched by central Govt. especially MGNREGA and SKEWPY for youth and advised youth to come forward and take benefit of this historical scheme first time launched in Jammu and Kashmir State to overcome the employment problem.
The Minister also took a round of the different stalls installed by various departments including banks. Mir said that there are great responsibilities on the shoulders of our elders Intelligentsia, Institutions, Kashmiri Diaspora, Political Parties, Business Community and Govt. authorities to show right path of excellent future to the younger generation so that they do not waste their energy and time on result less policies. He further said that the need of our is to change our entire strategy for our future generation and stressed for making the new policies and programmes youth based and there should be greater participation of these youths in these programmes. He said that our politics and economics have to be youth lead and youth driven.
Mir on this occasion, also thanked the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and his Govt. for announcing one lakh jobs to unemployed youth of Kashmir which would positively not only have a good impact on the feelings of the youth but also change thinking and mind setup. He further said that this step will also strengthen the hands of state Govt. to remove the un-certainty among the youth of our state.
Meanwhile the Minister was informed that 32000 unemployed youths have been registered with the district employment office Baramulla, while one thousand unemployed youth have been provided allowances under SKEWPY. He was also told that 350 persons have been advanced loans by the different financial institutions for establishing their employment generating units in the district.
On this occasion, the Minister said that the Allah has bestowed all natural resources including water resources and other sectors and accordingly there is a big scope for developing Agriculture, Floriculture sectors in the valley and these sectors have potential to provide a good number of employments to unemployed youth particularly in rural areas.
