On the heels of International Podcast Day on September 30, 2015, Panoply and GE Podcast Theater produced a fictional podcast following the decoding of a message from outer space. “The Message” is hosted by fictional character Nicky Tomalin, who interviews a team of cryptologists through the process of decoding and deciphering the alien message received more than 70 years ago. The twist is that “The Message” may not be the safest thing to uncode. Think the “Serial” podcast, but on steroids, and get ready to get hooked on another podcast for the rest of 2015.
If you love science, technology and draw, “The Message” is right up your alley.
If you want a preview, and I should warn you that you will want to hear more, here is the Soundcloud link for the teaser: https://soundcloud.com/panoply/introducing-the-message/s-frI4j
Start listening to full versions of the podcast on October 4th, when the first episode will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Overcast and Tunein. It will also be available on a custom landing page created by Panoply, TheMessagePodcast.com
In actuality, “The Message” is going to be more than just a podcast. GE is creating a fully immersive experience where listeners can go beyond the story and explore extra content such as Cypher’s website, Nicky’s blog, and more. This is a partnership with Panoply, the podcast network of the The Slate Group, so grab your earbuds, some popcorn and get ready to get hooked.
