The results show that presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona has the advantage over Democratic frontrunners Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and Senator Hillary Clinton over terrorism and Iraq. But Iraq is a slight edge for McCain. So far, McCain’s main platform for his campaign was Iraq.
Recently, the DNC had launched attack ads in regards to McCain’s remark about keeping troops in Iraq for 100 years. McCain has admitted that Iraq will either make or break his candidacy.
As the other poll results show, Iraq came as a distance second as the most important issue. The state of the economy was considered the number one issue of most of the minds of Americans.
Clinton and Obama have the advantage over health care, economy, food prices, and gas prices. This is good for either Clinton or Obama when one of them ends up with the Democratic Party’s nomination. If the results of the last poll in regards to the number one issue remain consistent, it could spell disaster for McCain.
