PDP,BJP demands enchantment of cash relief to K Migrants

Jammu, April 30 (Scoop News) – PDP and BJP today demanded enchantment of cash relief in favour of Kashmiri Migrants

Ashok Bhat, President, PDP Migrant Cell while addressing the demonstrators  at Jagti Township expressed concern over the delaying tactics being adopted by the State Govenment for enhancement of cash relief in favour of displaced community. He urged the Govt. to send a formal proposal to Union Govt. immediately regarding the enchantment of cash relief in favour  of displaced people from the Valley who are not in a position to make their tough times.

Ashok Bhat  urged the Govt. to redress the long pending demands of the Community at the earliest and immediate remedial measures be taken. Mr Bhat said that the failure of the Govt. to grant age relaxation to over-aged  unemployed Youth is cause of concern as they are in total desperation. The promises made by the Chief Minister Jb. Omar Abdullah in Apex Committee meeting that over-aged Kashmiri Pandits Youth will be given age relaxation which seems to be only hollow slogan to befool the people. PDP Miniority Cell urged the Govt. to settle this issue immediately as the future of these youth is otherwise dark .

Expressing concern over statement given by Minister of State for R&B Javed Ahmed Dar at Bohri, he said that  Dar Sahib does not know the facts as to why  KPs  were forcibly evicted from the Valley. The fact is Dr. Farooq Abdullah was at that time at the helm of affairs and he failed to protect lives and properties of KPs. Instead of taking serious action to inculcate confidence among the minority community  Dr. Farooq Abdullah left the State and took shelter at London and it is astonishing that now a  Junior Minister of his Party is showing sympathies towards Kashmiri Pandit Community. Dr. R K Pardesi, Sunil Bhat, Veerji Raina, J L Raina, Hira Lal, Vinod Koul , Chand Ji Khar and others also spoke on the occasion .

Meanwhile BJP also demanded enhancement of Cash relief to Kashmiri Migrants.

The government should immediately enhance the monthly relief to the Kashmiri migrants, who were forced to leave their homes and hearths from valley and are living in miserable conditions in different parts of Jammu province. A demand to this effect was made by BJP MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing the agitating Kashmiri migrants who have been on protest dharna at Jagti Migrant Camp demanding enhancement of their relief.

Jugal Kishore Sharma said that about 22 years ago, the Pakistan trained terrorists had led a reign of terror in Kashmir valley and were targeting the Kashmiri pandit families with an agenda to force them to leave their homes and hearths in Kashmir. Many innocent people were killed and properties worth crores of rupees was flamed to ashes. No one was feeling secure as a result of which Kashmiri Hindus in particular had to migrate enmass to escape their liquidation at the hands of the terrorists. He said that after their migration thousands of families have been putting up in miserable conditions in rented accommodations and migrants camps. With the passing of time and least avenues of employment many families have even left the state.

Jugal Kishore Sharma said that on one hand the prices of essential commodities are going up with each passing day and it has become very difficult for a common man to arrange even 2-time meal for the family. The migrants who are totally dependent on the government relief have been the worst sufferer.  Only Rs. 41.56 are being paid as relief per member in a family, which is a cruel joke as this meagre  amount cannot buy even one time meal for a person, leave aside other daily needs. Extending full support to the genuine demand of the Kashmiri migrants, the MLA said that their relief should be enhanced and it should be atleast Rs. 120 per day.
