People Should Never Plan Their Tomorrows

People make appointments and plan vacations looking forward to their tomorrow’s but for many people their tomorrow will never come. Yes, it is best to plan for tomorrows but one thing people must do is realize tomorrow may never come. It’s my firm belief people should live their today’s, and pray if it is God’s will, they’ll plan for their tomorrow.

In Matthew 6: 33 the Bible tells us, "Seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you."

In Matthew 6: 34 the Bible tells us, "Take therefore no thought for the tomorrow: for the tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is evil thereof."

No-one on this earth knows for sure what their tomorrow holds for them except God, everything can be going great and tomorrow the sky has darkened and became gloomy and there is "no" tomorrow for them. The curtain is drawn and life is over. It is morbid but "no-one" but God knows what tomorrow will bring for them.

People can save-up for their tomorrows but in a flash their life can be totally changed. It’s my opinion people need to live their today’s to the fullest and wait upon their tomorrow’s through the grace of God. Tomorrows can be full of struggles, trials and tribulations, and there is "no" promise of a tomorrow for them.

In James 4: 13 – 17 the Bible tells us, "Go to now, you that say, today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get grain: ‘Whereas you know not what will be on the tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeared for a little time, and then vanished away.’ ‘For that you ought to say, if the Lord will, we will live, and do this, or that.’ ‘But now you rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing evil.’ ’Therefore to him that knows to do well, and does it not, to him it is sin.’ "

People often plan their tomorrows years in advance never thinking about or fearing there won’t be a tomorrow for them, or if there is a tomorrow, their lives will have changed drastically. It tells us in Proverbs 27: 1, "Boast not yourself of tomorrow: for you know not what a day may bring forth."

I remember years ago my husband and I had planned to build a home in the country and spend the rest of our lives there but we neglected to bring God into our plan for the future. Many things changed in our lives and the home in the country was not meant to be and we’re now living happily where we know we belong.

People can live their lives on a plan though if they bring God into the plan too. I’ve learned from Bible teachings that people need to consult God in all things concerning their lives before they do any planning. God has people’s lives planned and He knows what their tomorrows bring.
