LAHORE, December 11:
Provincial Minister for Special Education, Sohail Afzal has said that Special Education Department will provide "Braille Quran" to blind persons free of cost.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a 9-day training course in Arabic Braille at Government Training College, here today. The Minister said that the component of training cannot be neglected during any phase of life, which, starts from childhood. He said that knowledge is the heritage of the Prophets and the teachers are custodian to it. He said that teachers should complete their training will full attention and its practical display should be in the form of good results of special children and their self-reliance by providing them jobs besides making them useful citizens of the nation and the country.
Secretary Special Education Sohail Masood said that this course will be beneficial to the participants and will help increase in their knowledge. He said that a Resource and Guidance Centre would be set up at Government In-service Training College. He said that training is being given to the teachers of general education in special education sector. He said that teachers should play their due role for the success of this course so that special children could benefit from this training. Earlier, Principal, Government In-service Teachers Training College, Mrs. Afifa informed about Arabic Braille and said that government is providing all possible facilities to special children.
