Guetersloh, Germany (Groundreport.com) – Sony BMG Entertainment has announced a music subscription service for its users. The service is compatible with a variety of digital music players and – including Apple’s iPod – offers unlimited access to Sony BMG’s music.
Rolf Schmidt-Holtz told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in an interview that as far as costs go, the "simplest option would be a flat rate." A monthly fee would include unlimited downloads from Sony BMG’s music catalog, reported the newspaper.
Holtz added "even possible that clients could keep some songs indefinitely, that they would own them even after the subscription expired."
Some of the artists on the company’s roster inludes Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys and Celine Dion, and country singer Carrie Underwood.
