There’s nothing more frustrating than playing away on your smartphone, taking a break every now and again to check out the latest status updates over on Facebook, maybe checking out the latest episode of Homeland and then returning to your game only to discover you’ve depleted your mobile battery to the point of no return.
So typically it’s once again time to hunt out the charger, or dock your device to give it that much needed boost. This usually means placing it somewhere that you’re not currently sitting, or having to bend at uncomfortable angles in order to continue your game playing action whilst your traditional charger cable gives you as much tensile flexibility that it possibly can. And what’s worse is that it’ll take some time before the phone is even ready to disconnect again. Is this how we’re to spend the rest of our mobile lives?
Thankfully not, as that is where the StoreDot steps in. The Israeli company is developing a new smartphone battery technology that has the potential of fully charging a device within just 30 seconds. The startup will utilise bio-organic nano-crystal technology in order to achieve its impressive claims. Back in October it managed to raise $42 million in funding which will be used to develop the prototype technology and apply it directly to a full capacity battery that will be compressed in order to fit inside the latest smartphone devices. The potential is absolutely astounding.
It will literally change the way we use our everyday smartphone technology. How many times a week do you find yourselves limited by your mobile use because your battery’s low or you forgot your charger. How often do you have to constantly close down memory sucking apps or switch off certain battery draining phone or network services? You’ll now be able to watch as much as you want, open up as much as you want and play as much as you want, especially at online casino games. These limitations will be completely expunged and the fast-charge will become second nature to device users everywhere. The potential to develop it even further into tablets, phablets and laptops will be incredible.
Dr Doron Myersdorf, the CEO and founder of StoreDot is promising that the “The fully functioning prototype” will be ready for the latter half of 2016 with an eye to market it commercially in early 2017.
