Kathmandu December 21 , 2008 The drama of student’s politics took its toll on the fourth day with a chaotic stir where from the early morning situation got tensed in and around the government colleges in Nepal. With the tension mounted from Thursday, the students Unions, Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) and All Nepal National Independent Students Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) breached their code of conduct In apprehending and attacking each other from Thursday where allegations are being raised by both the unions against each other. More specifically in old Baneshware and Baudha students of the Pashupati Multiple Campus affiliated to ANNISU-R came out showcasing weapons with the intention of answering the NSU’s protest and agitation on Friday. From the early morning, the students of the NSU and ANNISU-R were out on streets showing agitations in different government colleges. It seems that Political differences in between the mainstream political parties like Nepali congress party and Maoist party have taken the form of student brawl where the two big political parties are fighting their battles from the student’s shoulders. The major hub centers like old Baneshware, Lanichaur and Buddha are in a tensed situation where the agitated student unions are deliberately creating tension and blocking roads putting vehicular movement to a halt. Specifically in Baudha the ANNISU-R activities displayed weapons like kukris and knifes challenging the police force and law system. Moreover, the ANNISU-R activities challenged Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Baudha Police station, Om Rana for further action against them. Currently the police is trying to control the situation in a more provocative way where the issue is being pushed to create a stir in the political system. Nevertheless, the NSU supporting the Nepali Congress party and ANNISU-R supporting the Maoist party are currently playing political games in the names of student union where the normal students and public are bound to suffer the consequences. Thought the Maoist led government talks about building a new Nepal but currently its student wing organization is categorically putting question on the intentions of its party by showcasing and using weapons and power against its counter parts. Now the questions have been raised against the intention of the political parties to use such vulnerable group like students in their power games and manipulation of the mainstream politics. However, no causality have not been reported till the afternoon but the morning sessions have already shown the signs of a tensed and chaotic day ahead for the valley people. By Shreedeep Rayamajhi.
