Taking the youth out of darkness to brighter future: Mir


Srinagar, January 11 (Scoop News) –Minister for Agriculture and President of Democratic party Nationalist,  Ghulam Hassan Mir today appealed the intellectuals, writers and the citizens of the state to come forward for making J&K self reliant  by tapping the young human resource of the State  bringing all round prosperity.

Addressing one- day party convention at Bandipora town, Mir said that Almighty has bestowed our youth with tremendous potential, talent and capabilities which is needed to be utilized in a positive manner so that a socio –economic transformation will take place in the State.

The President of DPN further said, “if J&K has to emerge as model State in the Country, then youth has to share  a great responsibility by not only  using their best potential but have to also prove their mettle in compitatative world”.

Referring the long disturbances in the State,  Mir said that our youngsters became the first victim of these situations. He said that “our party wants to provide the youth such a platform so that they may came out form darkness to bright future”. He stressed upon the youth to channelize their best inherent talent in right directions to make the motherland at par with other states.

 Mir said that the need of the hour is to formulate the youth oriented policies to involve them for Nation building process. He said “Wherever they get the opportunities, they achieve the target as per their performance.”  “Our politics and our economics have to be youth led and youth driven and without wasting more time we need to ensure that our youth are an important  and integral part our political edifice”, Mir added.

          He said in an endeavor to empower our youth politically, he added “our own party have an urge that the whole political class and Institutions to be democratized in a such way that the youth of the State willingly,pro-actively and positively participate in the affairs of the State.”

          Regarding to provide opportunities to the Youth, the President said that our party has not only urged the State Government to build the capacity of our Educational and Training Institutions to the National and International levels but we also request the Union Government to reserve the quotas for youth of our State especially from Kashmir in the reputed Educational and Professional Intuitions of the Country.

 Mir said that our traditional and niche sectors like Handicrafts,Hoticulture,Agriculture,Tourism and Sericulture face many challenges that have rendered these sectors unviable for a large section of population that was traditionally dependent on these sectors. “We need to upgrade and modernize these sectors in accordance with the present requirements in the markets so that the people who are dependent on these sectors earn enough to live a dignified and honorable life.

 On the occasion, Provincial President,Dr.Safadar,District President Bandipora,Advocate,Bilal Ahmad,District Prsident Ganderbal,Farooq Ganderbally.Leader of the Ladies Wing,Madam Sultana and other youth leaders spoke in the convention.
