Proddatur (GR-TYP-BIN): ‘It’s time to develop technology keeping ethical principles in view. People have not progressed much in terms of ethical and moral standards despite the technological development has taken the world forward. It is due to lack of ethical and moral principles in using developing technology’, said Dr. G Jayachandra Reddy, Principal, Yogi Vemana University. He participated as a Chief Guest in ‘National Level Youth Festivities 2K15’ organized by Vaagdevi Institute of Technology and Science (VITS) in the College on February 21.
Addressing the graduating students, he said, people are gaining access to facilities easier with the expanding technological development. But, it is not yielding the fruits to the whole society to the extent as intended, he observed. ‘The main reason lies with the shrinkage of ethical and moral values in the human society. Present policy of education and use of technology is not inculcating the values in the people. Better ethical thinking for better technologies is required’, he observed.
Dr. Jayachandra Reddy called upon the graduating students to get into the field of agriculture both to increase the yield and storing capacity of agricultural produces with the use of technology. He cautioned that mankind is likely to face an acute scarcity of food grains in future and our technological advancements with self-reliance must assure us of averting these natural disasters.
VITS Principal Dr. N Kumara Swamy exhorted the students to concentrate on career development along with participation in social services.
In the closing session, Mr. Sahadev, Manager, Chartered Bank opined that if the people like you with analysing skills work in the banking sector will serve more customers and scale the heights of bank professions within less time.
Later, he distributed certificates of appreciation, cash rewards and prizes to the outshining students.
According to Programme Convener Mr. K Rammohan Reddy, 400 students from 10 Engineering Colleges participated in Technical Quiz, Sports and Creative Events and presented papers.
