CHITRAL: Shughoor police arrested a thief who was involved in different theft cases. According to police post Shughoor and Hassan Khan owner of Terichmir Backers and general store Shughoor one Aslam Baig son of Mir Baig resident of Chwench was trying to enter in Hassan Backers and general store shop for theft purposes.
As some unknown thief already had stolen precious goods from that shop and some other general stores in the area, residents of the area were alert and tracing the theft. Aslam Baig was trying to steal from a shop But he was arrested by Khush Muhammad and was handed over to Shughoor police. Hassan Khan said that he was involved in some theft cases in the area and was wanted to local police. He said that Shughoor police had lodged FIR on their complaint against unknown persons. In present case the accused Aslam Baig also confessed of his crimes before Shughoor Police. Social and political circle of the area have hailed efficiency of Shughoor police. Hassan Khan said that earlier that some unknown persons had put fire in the same shop and nearby hotel as a result one employee of hotel had died. He urged on local police to investigate that case thoroughly and play role neutrally to unearth other culprits accomplices with Aslam Baig.
3 day-long Qaghlasht Festival concluded. Kosht team won polo trophy.
CHITRAL: 3 days long annual Qaghlasht festival was concluded here at Qaghlasht ground having the altitude of 6000 feet from sea level. Former Federal Minister and Member National Assembly from Chitral Chairman National Assembly standing committee on Kashmir affairs Shahzada Muhayuddin was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by District Coordination officer Chitral Mutasim Billah Shah. Some 6 polo teams, 10 Football teams, 16 teams of cricket, 2 teams participated in Tug of war match. 40 persons participated in race competition and 10 teams participated in Volley ball. A local and traditional match like hockey called Farosan Ghal was played between Booni and Mulkho team in which Booni team defeated Mulkoh team. Competition of musical chair was also held among special people while at night time musical concert, musical and cultural show was arranging during the 3 days festival to enthrall the participants.
The most attractive and traditional game (match) was shooting in which players in a traditional dress using centuries old (antique, unique) rifles in which they putting (filling) explosive from its barrel side and burning a rope with rubbing of stones and targeting a point. Besides it so many other colorful programs were held during the 3 days festival.
Chief guest MNA Chitral Shahzada Muhayuddin presented winner and runner up trophies to different teams. Thousands of people participated in the final. Addressing on the occasion MNA Chitral Prince Muhayuddin assured for blacktopping of Mulkoh and Qaghlasht road, he announced of 30000 for management committee. He said that the young generation should to participate in healthy activities to save from social evils.
Chairman Qaghlasht organizing committee and Tehsil Nazim Mastuj Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk thanked Sarhad tourism corporation, Agha Khan Rural Support Program, Jafakash Aurat project, Hashoo foundation, Agha Khan sports Board, MPA Ghulam Muhammad, district administration, district police, Chitral Association for Mountain Area Toursim, staff of National Bank of Pakistan Chitral, Degree College, THQ Hospital Booni staff, volunteers who success this festival. Some foreigners tourists and female from Kalash community also participated in the final matches. Thousands of spectators attended the festival.
DCO Chitral demanded from Federal and Provincial government as well as Pakistan Cricket Board to hold international cricket matches in this ground due to entire peaceful area and assured that no violation would be occurred here. Faizur Rehman said that this festival is arranging for 3 objectives. To collect and meet inhabitants of different valleys of Chitral at this ground to enhance mutual harmony and interactions, to convey a message to the world that Chitral is a peaceful district and there is no extremism nor any militancy and to convey message and our problems.
