Students of VITS are marching ahead with ‘Clean India’ Message in Proddatur. Organizing Clean India Programme in various places across Proddatur has earned them accolades from all quarters of people in the town. The act of practical and voluntary participation by the students in a national programme which is message oriented is inspiring the people around them.
Proddatur (GR-TYP-BIN): Under the aegis of NSS Unit-3, Engineering Students of Vaagdevi Institute of Technology and Science (VITS) organized ‘Clean India’ Programme in coordination with Chennaiah Charitable Trust, at Proddatur bypass on March 24. The students removed bushes, thistles, litter and cleaned the area along the bypass area starting from Kothapeta to Rameswaram. They groomed the area around the plants and watered them, and planted some more saplings along the bypass.
Speaking on the occasion, VITS Principal Dr. N Kumara Swamy said that as part of fulfilling the privileged call given by the Prime Minister of India, the students of VITS have so far conducted ‘Clean India’ programme in 16 places of the constituency. We are organizing this programme with the pure intention of transforming our city into verdancy with the cooperation of Chennaiah Charitable Trust, the Principal added.
In future, we will cover the ring-road of Proddatur in our continuous Clean India Programme and plant the saplings along the road, said Charitable Trust Chairman Bojja Chennaiah and NSS Officer K Bhanu Prashant. They informed that the local notables of city have commended the service motive of the students and expressed hope that Clean India can be achieved by the participation of students.
