Men in Saudi Arabia claim women can sometimes “tempt them with their eyes” and are calling on the religious authorities in that country to mandate that women cover them up in certain situations…
Not only are women required to wear veils and garments to cover themselves from head to foot but they must also cover their eyes in certain cases so as to not cast their seductive “spell” on men.
Sheikh Motlab al Nabet , a radical Whabbist spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, said “a proposal to enshrine the measure into force of law has been tabled (See article: “Saudi women attractive eyes forced to cover resolution passed” http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063143/Saudi-women-attractive-eyes-forced-cover-resolution-passed.html#ixzz1vEdp1Sdy ).

Muslim women in America think the measure goes way too far.
It should be noted that Muslim women are allowed to say that here in the United States where the law protect them from abuse – but if they were in Saudi Arabia they could be whipped for saying such things.
One Muslim woman (who wished to remain unnamed in this report) complained bitterly saying that she “already wears long pants and hijab (an outer garment that covers the woman’s head and chest and in some case part of her face) , she “does not wear makeup – what more do they want of me”, she said.
Others suggest that women should have the basic human right not to be accused of such things as “seducing men with their eyes.”
I must admit they are probably right!
The old saying the “eyes are the window of the soul” in this case may have to be amended to include the fact that women’s eye’s could be a way to a man’s heart as well.
An informal survey of 11 self proclaimed Muslim men in America rated the qualities of certain women who wore hijab, “eyes rated as high as 8 out of 11.”
Symmetry of the face and skin color rated “2nd and 3rd among the men being surveyed.”
Muhammad Makmood of Wichita, Kansas responded by saying that women with blue and green eye’s are more attractive in some case than women with brown eyes.
Muhammad agreed with the conclusion that a women’s “eyes could tempt men”, but added that men must exercise some self restraint when looking at a women.
“The first look is permissible, the second look for a long time is for Satan. But I don’t blame women for that temptation, men have to guard themselves…”, he said.
Others seem to prefer “brown eyes over hazel or blue.” It seemed to be a matter of preference in most cases however.
Women who wore “eye shadow” also rated higher than those who did not wear such makeup.
The highlighting of the eyes – make them stand out more, so do eye brow brushed and mascara makeup. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart – the place where love resides.
Other men we talked to about this said the true value in any women is her spiritual virtue and piety and cared more about that than physical appearance.
These men however did admit that the first quality that attracted them to their wives was physical beauty…
