Daylong 10-year celebration of success by Chartered University College, a leading concern in the arena of providing professional accountancy qualifications globally, was held recently.
The merriment took place at the HALL OF FAME of Bangabondhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on 8 July 2011.
Honorable Chairman (State Minister) of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Dr. A.K. Azad Chowdhury attended the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his speech he said, Bangladesh is not a banana country or no more a bottomless basket. We are only behind the BRIC countries. Now we need skill professionals to excellence in the world economy. Growth of the country is directly related to the tertiary level education, he added.
Moreover, Mr Benjir Ahmed, Member of Parliament, Mr Hasanul Haque Inu, Member of Parliament, Ms Mohua Rashid, Country Manager, ACCA Bangladesh, and Mr Murray Keeler, Country Examinations Manager, British Council, Bangladesh was present as Special Guests.
Mr Hasanul Haque Inu, MP, in his enlightening speech said, the greatest challenge of the millennium is poverty. We need market forces to play. But we cannot mortgage our future at the hands of the market forces.
Ms Mohua Rashid, in her speech, congratulated CUC for their extraordinary achievement. Mr Murray from the British Council also emphasized the importance of global education in today’s context and hoped for the success of CUC students in that regard.
During the daylong event, among others, there was crest distribution to students who had made outstanding results in the ACCA and CAT exam. Raffle Draw was an added attraction.
The congregation came to an end through a cultural show organized by the CUC students as well as a mind-blowing Band Performance organized by the same.
