Student drown in Chitral river. Dead body recovered by local volunteers.
CHITRAL: A student of 6th Class drowned in Chitral river and died on the spot while crossing a pedestal bridge over the River. According to SHO police station Mastuj Adil Khan son of Bahadar Khan resident of Sarghuz a student of 6th class was fell down in the river while he crossing a pedestal bridge over Mastuj river and died on the spot hence local volunteers success to recover his dead from the river who was laid to rest at his ancestral grave yard. Shakira Naz Chairperson Human Rights Monitoring Committee Mastuj told this scribe that mostly the pedestal bridges having no fencing wall or protection measurement as a result a number of children and ailing persons felling in the river while they crossing the river and dying. She demanded for jeep able bridges in the area and also compensation for the bereaved family.
Met officer died in road accident.
CHITRAL: In the fatal road accident officer In-charge of Pilot Balloon Observatory of Pakistan Meteorological Department Drosh Usman Ghani died in the road accident while he was coming to his office from Dir. Usman Ghani was a young officer and after qualifying his M.Sc in :Physics he joined Pakistan Met department as Meteorological Assistant. At present he was working as Officer In-Charge of PBO Drosh Chitral district. He left a widow and only one son of 4 days. He was laid to rest at his ancestral grave yard of Kasoona village in presence of thousands of tearing eyes. Chairman Human Rights Chitral Niaz Ali Shah demanded for compensation of his bereaved family.
Meanwhile death toll reached to 11 in road mishap near Gujar village at Lawari top District Police Officer Dir confirmed while talking this scribe. Those who were died in the road accident were identified as Inayatur Rehman son of Murad Khan resident of Aweer Tehsil Mastuj district Chitral, Naveedullah son of Sultan Muhammad of Temergara lower Dir, Sharifullah son of Rahmatullah of Ayun Chitral, Misal khan son of Purdil Khan of Shah Mansoor Swabi his wife Mrs. Noor Aftaba who belongs to Hoon village Chitral and his youngest son Shamsher Khan, Sartaj Driver son of Ameen Khan Qashqari of Dir, Usman Ghani son of Mukhtiar of Dir, Ihsanullah son of Haji Wazir Afghan refugee settled at Chitral and Muzaffar Abbas son of Huzoor Muhammad of Haveli Gulab Shah district Jang Punjab while the injured persons were Waqar Ahmad, Habibur Rehman, Tariq and Ihsanullah. Eye witness told that the accident occurred to high speed by driver who was advised by passengers many time to avoid from speedy traveling but he not abandoned and lastly fell down hundred of feet below ravine.
