12 CAN ICT Conference to be hosted by ISOC Nepal

Internet Society Nepal (ISOC Nepal) in association with Computer Association of Nepal is about to host the 12 Computer Association Nepal ICT Conference here at Hotel Annapurna from January 29 to 30 with the theme ‘Internet is for everyone’. The conference will focus in major areas of infrastructure, internet content, security, law and policy and e-able services and applications adapting and understating the current scenario.

According to Baburam Aryal president of ISOC Nepal, “This conference is first of its type, though in the past there has been many conference conducted on various topics but it is the first time where we are bringing so many international experts and that too to talk about Internet. We believe internet has been a daily usable commodity and it should be catered accordingly at all levels. This conference will not only help to understand the current scenario and problems but it will also help to lay foundation for the future.”
 
The program would highlight international experts like cyber law expert Dr. Subhajit Basu Director of LLM Program at the University of Leeds in UK, Mr. Alok Singh, CEO Novatium Solutions Pvt Ltd, Vinish Kathuria, Vice President of Ericssion India and Rakshit Tondon, CEO, Tandon Solution Provider, India.

The 2 days conference is also suppose to hold various discussion programs on Internet and Freedom of Expression: Social Media Perspective and Issues and Challenges of Implementation of E-Governance Initiatives in Nepal.

According to ISOC Nepal the registration fee for participation is NRS 4000(USD 50) where different fellowships are available.
