12 Dead Identified, Seriously injured airlifted to Jammu

Jammu, March 15 (Scoop News) – In a tragic road mishap twelve passengers were killed while 56 others suffered injured, some of them critically wounded, when an over-loaded Matador skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Kossar Nallah near Choka Nallah   falling between Sudhmahdev and Mantalai road of  Udhampur district this morning.

According to Police the mishap occurred when the driver of the ill fated Matador bearing registration No. 7565/JK14A was on its way from Latti to Chenani, lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a  sharp curve   resulting in  vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the 330-feet deep gorge in Kossar Nallah near Choka Nallah under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani.

Police said that on receipt of the information police rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, with hectic efforts all occupants of the vehicle have been evacuated and rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where  ten persons were declared as brought dead while twelve critically wounded persons after giving the first Aid have been Airlifted to GMC Jammu  and two others by road  for the specialized treatment. Out of the referred injured to GMC Jammu one succumbed to his injuries on the way and other one in GMC Jammu taking the death toll to twelve persons.

The deceased have been identified as Kushaliya (62 years) wife of Late Shri  Karan Singh of Mantalai Chenani , Raj Kumar (24 years) son of Om Prakash of Kossar Chenani , Baby Gugu (2 years) daughter of Kala Ram  of Kossar Chenani, Kishor Kumar (35 years) son of Dharnoo   of Sarar  Udhampur, Asha Begum (70 years) w/o Ab.Majid r/o Latti Sudh Mahadev , Abidullah (80 years) son of Rustum of Sira Sudh Mahadev  , Gh. Nabi  (57 years) son of Ab. Rehman of Bain Sudh Mahadev, Shatoo  (55 years) son of Ismail of Bali Nallah Sudh Mahadev , Ramesh (30 years) son of Uttam Chand of Sudh Mahadev, Laboo ( 50 years)  wife of Abdullah of Kossar SudhMahadev Hans Raj (65 years) son of Mansa Ram of Sarar and Jeevan  (26 years) son of Amar Nath of Sarar .

 

          The seriously wounded persons who are admitted in   GMC Jammu have been identified as  Nikhal (6 years) son of Som Dutt of Maroothi , Sunil Singh (25 years)  son of Pritam Singh of  Maroothi , Badri  (55 years) son of Hem Raj of  Sarar , Ab. Rashid (47 years) son of Faqir Ali , Balwan Singh (21 years) son of Krishan Lal of Mantali , Kala (32 years)  son of Pappi Mantali , Shakti Kumar (18 years)  son of Kaka Ram of  Ramnagar, Suresh Kumar (30 years) son of Sansar Chand of  Udhampur, Shankru (51years) son of Loffu of Tamatar Morh ,Krishan (62 years) Lal r/o Mantali, Sunil (10 years)    son of Nishu of Mantali, Wali Mohd (60 years) son of Nandu of Batote .

The rest other injured were admitted in District Hospital Udhampur.

 

Meanwhile Minister for Revenue and Relief,  Raman Bhalla informed the House that 2 seriously injured persons of Channai road mishap have been airlifted to Jammu Medical College hospital for treatment while rest of the injured are being brought to Udhampur for proper treatment.

He was responding to the points raised by  Krishan Chandar and  Harsh Dev Singh

 

 

Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture,  Sham Lal Sharma has expressed shock over the tragic road accident that has occurred near Sudh Mahadev in Udhampur district today, where 10 persons are reportedly  killed and 58 injured.

            Expressing his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families, the Minister has prayed for peace to the departed souls. He has also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

            The Minister has directed the Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur to provide best medicare to the injured.
