Kishtwar/Srinagar, July 16, (Scoop News)- Fourteen people died and four others injured in Kishtwar and Parimpora road accidents .
Eight people have reportedly died and two injured when a Sumo skidded off and plunged into river Chenab this morning near Panjrari area in Kishtwar district.
According to Reports that the vehicle was on way from Dacchan to Kishtwar when the driver lost control over it.
In another incident Six people have reportedly died and two injured at Parimpora due to head on collision between an Army recovery Van and a Tavera passenger vehicle.
A case FIR has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation into the matter has been taken up. The vehicle has been seized and the driver of the Army vehicle has been arrested.
The five among six dead in the Parimpora road accident have been identified They were identified as Mohammad Rafiq Antoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Antoo resident of Sopore , Ghulam Nabi Dar son of Mohammad Ismail Dar resident of Bag-e-Gulshan Colony Sopore, Ghulam Hassan Bhat son of Abdul Samad Bhat(Diver) resident of Dangerpora Sopore, Nasir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Jamal Mir resident of Mumekakh Sopore, Mohammad Ramzan Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Aashpir Sopore and Peer Mohammad Syed son of Peer Sharif-ul-din resident of Ashpir Sopore.
Meanwhile Senior Congress MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of 8 precious human lives over the tragic road accident on Kishtwar-Dacchan road.
Saroori also visited District Hospital Kishtwar and has directed the doctors and para-medicos to provide best possible treatment to injured of Dacchan and Thallaran Chatroo ones. He stressed upon the district administration to streamline the Traffic management in the district. He also asked the District Development Commissioner to enforce traffic regulation norms adding that screening test about proficiency skill of drivers and vehicle efficacy running on various roads in the district should be ensured at all cost.
He asked the district administration to initiate verification of driving licenses of drivers forthwith and take stern action against erring persons.
Saroori also urged GREF, JKPCC, PMGSY and R&B departments to erect crash barriers on all vulnerable sites in the twin districts of Chenab Valley (Kishtwar and Doda) and widening of narrow portions/zigs in the area.

Awami Mutahida Mahaz (AMM) has expressed shock and grief over the tragic road accident on Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway near Parimpora in Srinagar in which 6 passengers died and some were injured.
In a statement issued here today, the AMM Convener expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of precious lives and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. He urged ex-gratia relief to the families of deceased and free of cost treatment to injured persons.
