15 Student Tips for Staying Productive All Day

Students are one of the best groups of people to teach some productivity lessons. They need to read tons of books, deal with numerous assignments and sometimes work. Add the desire to attend all of those cool parties and you’ll get an ingenious person who uses the time wisely to manage all of those things. So, see what tricks and tips many students have to offer you to become more productive.

Have a schedule

Well, most of you probably already have one. But in case you don’t, you should definitely think about it. Schedules always help out to be more organized and productive.

Be motivated

Motivation can make you productive for a fact. Motivated students always make everything work and pass all their papers on time. Just find that motivation for yourself, too.

Don’t waste time in public transport

Many of us spend some time on buses, subway trains, taxies, etc. Why just sit there doing nothing? Have you noticed young people on public transportation greedily reading books or their notes? You should follow their example and do some things there, too. This tip is especially relevant for long rides on trains or by plane. If you drive a car and cannot get distracted, you can also do something productive. Listen to audiobooks, practice your speech out loud, etc.

Have to do lists

Even the most organized people forget things. That’s why to do lists can be a precious asset. I had such lists in college, especially for important papers such as case study or dissertation. I wrote down all I had to do, and my productivity was higher than ever.

Have several small meals a day instead of a big one

Big lunch breaks are great. You get to eat your lunch and have some time for yourself. However, many people often find it hard to get back to work after a big meal and a long break.

As a result, they are being a bit lazy for some time after lunch and don’t do the best they can.

Many students, on the other hand, have several snacks per day during breaks between classes. First of all, it is better for your health to eat in small portions. Second of all, you get a bit distracted and get back with new energy. And finally, you don’t overeat and thus, don’t feel lazy.

Have smart routines

All of us probably have some routine for every day. If you are not as productive as you want to be, maybe you need to change yours.

Have goals

Having goals in life is necessary to keep you going. The majority of students have several goals for each college year (get straight As, find a part-time job, complete all the classes, write a dissertation, etc.). You probably have a couple of big goals, right? But try to divide them into small ones that will eventually bring you to the big goals. This will drive you to work more productively.

Know your productive time

One of the tricks of being productive is knowing your own golden hours. Some students do their assignments at night some think better in the morning or during a day. You should be aware your most productive time of the day so that you can leave the most important think for this stage.

Set deadlines

Deadlines help you moving. That’s why there is always a deadline for every assignment in college. Otherwise, students just wouldn’t do it. If you don’t have clear deadlines in your work and life, you should make them yourself. That would definitely help you do everything faster.

Have a library-like place for you

Many students go to libraries not only to find some books but to sit in a quiet place and to study in silence. Libraries have a unique atmosphere that sets you to a working mood. You should also have such a quiet place for you, where you can come, clear your head and do some work.

Prioritize

The majority of students have the classes that they value more than others; it’s normal. They handle the assignments from these classes first and pay more attention to them. You should also have the things to value more. Choose the tasks that matter the most and start your day with them.

Be disciplined

This tip comes from students in China. They all tend to have an adamant self-discipline there. If they choose a class, they commit to it to the greatest extent.

Have breaks

You cannot stay super focused for an extended period. School system knows it, and that’s why we have recesses in schools and colleges. When you have a short rest, you go back to work with more energy. Try to organize small breaks for you during the day and see if it works for you.

Clean up

Mess usually leads to stress. Students whose rooms are clean and well-organized tend to do better in college. If you have a messy workplace, you will do dirty work, as well. So, try to keep everything clean, especially your desk.

Do some sports or other activities

The majority of students have some sporting classes, whether it is baseball, cheerleading or general physical training. Physical exercises are crucial for productivity. They take your mind off work things and relax you so that you can go and be twice as productive.

Hopefully, these tips from students can help you be the most productive person you know. Good luck!
