DCO assured solving Chitral Problems.
CHITRAL: District coordination Officer (DCO) Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir while talking to local journalists at his office assured that the district administration is trying of its best to solve Chitral problems. He said that they have directed local police to not allow any person to purchase firewood from lower Chitral directly but all consumers should to get it from local market because by this way dealers increase its rate. He said that Wapda authority have assured them that local hydro power station will supply electricity after renovation of its one unit on 12 December. He requested elites of Chitral to motivate rich and whole sale dealers to come forward and help them for paying credit of Gas cylinders because main dealer not issue Gas cylinder without payment of its credit. He said while talking about law and order situation and maintaining of peace that number of border police would be increased from 75 to 1500 and they will establish border police line at Garamchishma, Booni, and Drosh. He said that all Non government Organizations (NGO) working at Chitral would be bound to keep proper coordination with the district administration and keep in trust them before launching any project at Chitral and fund disbursement. He said that Chitral was also included in Malakand Package by continue efforts of District Administration and now we will get more fund for developmental purposes. He stressed upon local journalists to continue their efforts for highlighting people problems in teamwork with District admin. He said that Chitral has been blocked from both sides and people besieged due to snowfall and we should to continue our efforts for bringing fund from outside to Chitral. It was revealed that provincial government has called explanation from District Nazim because of premature announcement regarding opening of Lawari tunnel for Chitrali people. He also assured for early construction of by pass road to solve traffic problem at main road.
He said that work on by pass road would be start very soon as provincial government has assured them. He said that most of high schools deprived from examination halls. He criticized increasing rate of firewood, which is selling at 300 rupees per mound. Some people also alleged that firewood was smuggled to Gilgit from Chitral and that is whey there is acute shortage. He said Chitral have great potential for hydro power generating and according to a survey there is potential of 4500 megawatt due to plentiful quantity of water which was never utilities for this purpose. He said that we will try to persuade the government to arrange for a depot to stock Gas here for winter season like oil stock depot. Otherwise our forest is mercilessly cutting and it will be ended in next few years. He said that Sheshi powerhouse will start supplying of electricity within a few days and we will overcome power shortage problems. Meanwhile a delegation of all parties given deadline of 25 December for restoration of power supply otherwise they will come on roads. The delegation comprising over all parties and elites of Chitral meet DCO Chitral and handed over him a unanimous resolution demanding for early restoration of electricity. DCO assured them that electricity would be restored on 12 December.
Meanwhile recruitment process of police continues at Chitral. Some 1200 youth including Ex-service men of military forces, and ladies police candidate also submitted their documents for recruitment in Chitral police. District Police Officer Chitral Muhammad Jafar Khan told this scribe that some 266 male qualified written test and 23 female for lady police. He said that some 6500 police posts have been created at Malakand Division in which some 400 would be recruited at Chitral. As provincial government is strengthening police force by increasing their number and with sophisticated weapons to overcome law & order situation in the province as well in the country. He said some other youth would be recruited in the month of April. He said that we also recruit Ex-service men retired from paramilitary forces or Pakistan Army who having 10% quota. He assured that merit would be followed strictly in all recruitment.
