In the dormitory of the school at Kampala, Uganda, a fire that took place overnight had killed at least nineteen girls. Still, that is the minimal death count at the moment. It is possible there are still bodies that were not found. The dormitory that had caught fire had sixty-three beds.
As the workers are searching the burned dorm to find bodies, the parents of the children are distraught at what had just happened. According to Kale Kaihura, the Police Inspector General, the early investigations suggest that the fire was deliberate and the deaths of the nineteen girls are a homicide. Still, it is unknown how many children were in that room.
It is explained that there could be at least over seventy girls in the building. It is not uncommon for some students to sleep on mattresses that have been placed on the floor. This is why the current death toll has been placed at nineteen. In addition, another report said that two adults have been killed in the fire.
The students were from the Buddo Primary School, one of the top private schools in the country of Uganda.
At the moment, nineteen of the students have been confirmed dead. Two adults are reported to have been killed; but, it has not be confirmed as of yet. There could be more death confirmations in the near future.
